About RefWorks

Refworks is an online research management, writing and collaboration tool. You access it online by logging in with a username and password that you will need to setup.

Key features:

  • Online access from any computer
  • Share citations with a team using RefShare tool
  • Write'n'Cite tool allows you to cite references in your RefWorks library in MS Word

Getting Started

The library provides access to RefWorks to all UT students, staff, and faculty.

To get started with RefWorks:

If you are ON-campus:

  1. Go to the RefWorks login page.  Since you are on-campus, it should automatically recognize that you are on the UT network and take you to the University of Tampa access page.  If not, find the UT RefWorks group code on the Databases page.
  2. If you do not already have an account, click the link to Sign Up for a New Account.  You can use any e-mail account for your login information.
  3. Start using RefWorks!  See our RefWorks page for tutorials if you are new to RefWorks.

If you are OFF-campus:

  1. Login to esearch using your UT credentials. 
  2. Click the link to RefWorks at the top of the page and make a note of the group code.  You will need this to setup your account if you are off-campus. 
  3. Type in the group code on the RefWorks page.  This should take you to the University of Tampa access page.
  4. From here, you can either login with your existing RefWorks login, or Sign Up for a New Account.
  5. Start using RefWorks!  See our RefWorks page for tutorials if you are new to RefWorks.
